About Us
West Suffolk College is on a mission to be the best college in the UK - we believe our community deserves nothing less.
We're making history at West Suffolk College in a place famous for it. On a stunning campus in the heart of historic Bury St Edmunds, we're advancing ambitious plans to become a leading vocational and academic college, serving our students outstandingly, and supporting the success of businesses and the regional economy.
We provide an outstanding education to every one of our students. Our ethos is to put our learners' success at the heart of everything we do. That means we do everything we can to help our students succeed and be the best they can be.
We have an impressive range of courses, high quality facilities, inspiring tutors and incredible opportunities to open up a career or succeed in higher education. We believe in engaging with our students as young adults in a supportive and encouraging environment and we aim to give the best opportunity to develop, grow and become passionately involved in their own education.
Why study with us
We are extremely proud to support learners and employers to ensure the relevant and suitable skills are in place for current and future economic growth and stability.
We put the learners at the heart of everything we do and ensure they have the correct support before progressing through to undertake the Apprenticeship End Point Assessment. This care and support has been reflected in our Success Rates which are 30% above the national average for Apprenticeship Standards.
We want to help and you will find us responsive and caring.
Enrolment
Enrolment varies between each Apprenticeship Programme offered. A lot of our Apprenticeships can start at any stage within the year and some more traditional Apprenticeships such as Construction and Engineering start in Sept and Jan. We ensure each learner is offered their own plan so please contact us to discuss more.
Training Centre Locations
We deliver training in the East of England including Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex and Hertfordshire. We have training center's in Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Thetford, Haverhill, Sudbury and Cambridgeshire.
Training is completed in different ways for each Apprenticeship. Some have face to face learning which requires weekly day release, some have monthly workshops and all have Programme Tutor support remotely.
Each learner will be issued an online portfolio where they can collect evidence for Off the Job Training, utilise course resources, upload assignments and contact their Programme Tutor.
Accessibility and Transport Links
We are located centrally on direct road, bus and train links making travel to our main site at Bury St Edmunds very simple and easy.
