About Us
Skills Edge Training is an independent training company specialising in insurance, financial services, business, leadership and management training. With over 14 years of delivering apprenticeships across the region, we are an established high quality provider that takes pride in developing the skills required today, providing local businesses the expertise they need for tomorrow.
To achieve this all our trainers and assessors have a minimum of 10 years' experience in their respective roles and sectors. All apprentices benefit from one to one tutorials and group workshops to provide both unique and peer supported learning experiences.
As a preferred partner of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) / Personal Finance Society (PFS), our financial services apprenticeships include a range of industry recognised qualifications.
Through our ICA Certification, we are proud to add to our offering the Compliance and Risk Officer Apprenticeship, now covering both financial services and insurance sectors.
Similarly, our accreditation to City and Guilds / ILM means we can supply a range of leading qualifications to support your organisation's professional development requirements.

Apprentices benefit from monthly one to one tutorials with their tutor, supported by fortnightly group workshops. All trainers and assessors have extensive industry experience to bring academic theory to life.
Online live workshop environments supported by our O365 academic licensing, provide convenient, interactive and engaging learning. Live access to sector professionals and instant messaging with tutors ensure learners get the support they need, as they need it.
As an approved CII Aspire Apprenticeships provider, our financial services apprentices include free CII membership with key industry qualifications - such as CertCII and DipPFS.

Training Centre Locations
All of our tuition is completed online via live interactive sessions.
Our academic version of Microsoft Office ensures that all students are supplied with a student license to Office 365 as part of their apprenticeship. This includes the enhanced functionality of Microsoft Teams which provides instant messaging with their tutors, quick and helpful tutorials, on-demand workshop recordings and a range of forums. All learners benefit from virtual notebooks which provide interactive worksheets, notes, guides and collaboration space.
This is fully utilised for remote delivery where we can bring apprentices safely and conveniently together in learning environments that can be as rich, if not more rich, than in-person classroom learning. These options also provide maximum flexibility for both apprentices and employees, minimising disruption to the working day.
Off-The-Job Training is usually completed in a 50/50 split with the workplace. Learners benefit from approximately 20 hours of tutor led time, supported by real world learning experiences in the workplace. Skills Edge Training is experienced in helping both apprentices and employers identify learning experiences that will benefit the appropriate apprenticeship standard.
