Support for apprentices
Before your apprenticeship
Apprenticeships Norfolk
If you're still thinking about or currently applying for apprenticeships and have a question, get in touch with Apprenticeships Norfolk. Whilst we don't provide a full support service for people searching and applying for apprenticeships, we can give some helpful tips and advice or potentially pass your query over to someone who can assist you further.
Charity grants and funding
If you need financial support to cover one off costs to secure or complete your apprenticeship, you may be eligible to receive funds from charity grants. To view a list of available charity grants, visit The Mason Trust's Other Funders page.
If you haven't been successful in getting any other charity funding, The Mason Trust offer their own Small Change grant if you don't qualify for any other funding.
During your apprenticeship
Employer and training provider
Once you have secured an apprenticeship, you will have support from both your employer and your training provider throughout your apprenticeship journey. If you are experiencing any problems or struggling with the work or training elements of the apprenticeship, it's best to speak to your manager or your tutor for support.
Apprenticeships Norfolk - apprentice network
Our apprentice network gives current apprentices the chance to connect with their peers in a fun and informal environment. These social events, such as adventure golf and bowling, not only provide a fun evening out but also the opportunity to talk to others with shared apprenticeship experience. This is especially helpful for people who may be the only apprentice in their company.
If you are a current apprentice in Norfolk and would like to find out about our next apprentice network event, get in touch with Apprenticeships Norfolk.
Computer and Wi Fi access - Norfolk libraries
Every library in Norfolk offers free computer and Wi Fi access which can be used to complete online off-the-job training if required. Please check out the opening hours for local libraries.
Support for care experienced individuals
Along with the support mentioned above, an additional support package is available for Norfolk-based care experienced apprentices and apprenticeship seekers from both Norfolk County Council and HM Government. Visit Support for care experienced apprentices for more information.
